01Teams & Leaderboards

Friendly competition, built in.

Free-form or org-defined teams with captains and chapter tiers. Individual, team, and chapter leaderboards update live, with totals rolling up to the campaign dashboard.

  • Label participants and teams with your own custom labels instead of the default participant and team wording
  • Roll activity totals up from each participant to the team page and on to the main event dashboard
  • Manage fundraisers in an admin grid grouped by team, filtered by fundraiser, team, or amount raised

02Badges & Gamification

Rewards that keep fundraisers fundraising.

Badges unlock on a first activity, a unit total, a streak, or a sponsorship, built from templates or your own artwork. Each page shows the next one in progress.

  • Award a badge when the event is finalized, alongside the milestones participants earn during the campaign
  • Update badges automatically as Strava activities import, with leaderboards and pledge math refreshing at the same time
  • Display earned badges on the public fundraiser page beside the live activity feed and goal progress bar

03Per-Unit Pledges

A dollar fifty a mile, billed for you.

Sponsors pledge an amount per unit with an optional cap, like $0.50 a mile up to $100. Flat pledges and one-time donations sit in the same cart.

  • Follow each pledge through one lifecycle: pledge, activity sync, finalize, then an auto-calculated cart
  • Set a card-on-file policy for pledges, deciding whether sponsors store a card at the time they pledge
  • Merge all of one sponsor's pledges into a single cart when the event is finalized

04Strava & Activity Tracking

Miles that log themselves.

Participants connect Strava once and import runs, rides, swims, and walks. Custom types and units cover laps and pages read, with manual entry for everyone else.

  • Import activities by date range after a one-time OAuth connection, with each one mapped to your campaign's units
  • Log activity as an admin on behalf of any participant, or bulk-import a spreadsheet for the rest
  • Enable activity tracking on any P2P campaign, then set personal participant goals alongside the campaign-wide one

05Launch at Scale

One upload, a whole school on the board.

A guided wizard builds each page, or one CSV imports every page and team. A master design carries parent branding to child pages; invite, email, hide, and delete run in bulk, on staff-managed or fundraiser-owned pages.

  • Onboard every fundraiser at first login, then let external page owners edit their own fundraiser profile
  • Notify admins and page owners when a purchase lands on a child campaign, with each notification configurable
  • Find every fundraiser page in a dedicated P2P section of the campaigns list, with category components showing grouped campaigns and rolled-up totals

06Close-Out & Reporting

Finalize once, and every pledge calculates itself.

Finalize Activities locks tracking and auto-calculates every pledge. Activity, pledge, and transaction reports follow, alongside campaign-wide activity goals.

  • Review auto-calculated pledge totals on the Finalize Activities confirmation screen before awarding pledges to carts
  • Collect finalized pledges through card on file, payment links, or bulk checkout once the carts are awarded
  • Aggregate activity toward a campaign-wide goal across all participants, rolling individual totals up through teams to the event

Frequently Asked
Questions

What is peer-to-peer fundraising software?

Software that gives every supporter a personal fundraising page under your campaign, with teams and leaderboards and donations rolling up to one goal. BetterUnite adds activity tracking, badges, and per-unit pledges for walk-a-thons and challenges.

Can supporters track miles, laps, or books, not just dollars?

Yes. Turn on activity tracking for any peer-to-peer campaign and define custom activity types with system or custom units, including miles, laps, books, and pages. Totals roll up from individuals to teams to the campaign, alongside campaign-wide and personal goals.

How do per-mile pledges get collected?

Sponsors pledge an amount per unit with an optional cap, for example $0.50 a mile up to $100. When you finalize the event, BetterUnite auto-calculates every pledge from final activity totals, merges each sponsor's pledges into one cart, and collects by card on file, payment link, or bulk checkout.

Can we bulk-create fundraiser pages for a school or large event?

Yes. Upload a CSV template to create all fundraiser pages and teams in one shot, then bulk invite, email, hide, or delete them from a dedicated peer-to-peer admin section, with a master page design applying your branding to every child page automatically.

Does BetterUnite integrate with Strava?

Yes. Participants connect Strava once through OAuth and import runs, rides, swims, hikes, and walks by date range. Activities map to your campaign's units and update badges, leaderboards, and pledge math automatically.

Can donors give a flat amount instead of a per-unit pledge?

Yes. Flat pledges and one-time donations sit alongside per-unit pledges in the same checkout, so every kind of supporter can give in one pass.
