Julie Shannan is the founder and CEO of Big Mission Consulting. She helps organizations align their brand and mission throughout their marketing, communications, development, and programs. Julie has dedicated her career to building strong nonprofits that make a measurable impact. With over 25 years of leadership and fundraising experience, Julie is an expert at creating marketing and fundraising pieces that inspire people to join a cause and make a difference.

Julie started her nonprofit career in programs and volunteer management and has served as an Executive Director twice. Julie is a recipient of the prestigious “Austin Under 40” Award for leadership in Youth and Education. She graduated from the University of Texas at Austin and has developed nationally recognized science and technology programs that have been funded by Oprah’s Angel Network, the Texas Education Agency, and the National Science Foundation. Ms. Shannan has presented at conferences all over the nation including SXSW Interactive, SXSWedu, the Texas Conference for Women, Women in Technology International, Games 4 Change, the National Science Teachers Association, and more.
