As one of the Co-Executive Directors of Youth Rise Texas, I am co-leading this effort to put $$ behind youth power and escalate young people to the forefront of change.

First off: you are lit! Thank you for supporting Texas youth build power! Thank you for sharing your passion with your friends, family, coworkers, and more. More youth can rise against oppression because of you. 

Our world is kind of a 🔥hot mess🔥 right now. We can't go back to school shopping, or even to school, without low-key fearing for our lives. Our families face vigilante violence in the streets, from police, and at the border. Kids are sleeping in cages, and our government wants to build walls where we need bridges.

Thankfully, we have young people across Texas that are ready to take ACTION! 

• Our Liberate campaign is working to decrease school based arrests to ZERO. 
• Our When We Vote campaign is working to register and mobilize thousands of new voters to the polls in 2024.
• Our Restorative Justice cohort is working with 5 formerly incarceration youth to build skills towards the movement careers they want.

 This isn't the world we want, but it's the one we've got. So we're out to change that. To achieve the future we dream of, we need your help to center youth at the forefront and in decision making roles.

Will you help us fundraise for our Youth Steering Committee? This campaign’s goal will be to fundraise $20,000 to fund stipends for youth decision-makers. $20,000 = 1,000 hours of paid work for a youth worker! 

When do we fundraise? Youth Rise Texas’ Steering committee is beginning it’s pilot year at the end of 2023. The first fundraising campaign will run from Thursday October, 19th - Tuesday, November  28, 2023 (Giving Tuesday) You may fundraise anytime; however, we can offer more support during our scheduled campaign periods. 

Where do we fundraise? On the internet, in your home, anywhere! All P2P fundraisers are encouraged to set up a team via BetterUnite fundraising page to process their donations. How you make use of this donation page is up to you! Many folks go the modern-classic route of emailing the BetterUnite page and spreading the word via social media.
