2012 Hundred Acre Vineyard - Cabernet Sauvignon Kayli Morgan Vineyard

  • Rating: 99
  • Retail price: $500+
  • Drink date: 2018-2050
  • Reviewed by: Lisa Perrotti-Brown
  • Issue date: Dec. 7, 2018
  • Medium garnet in color, the 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon Kayli Morgan Vineyard opens with the most beautiful red roses and lilacs scents with red and black cherry compote and hints of cinnamon stick, earth, stewed tea, cigar box and forest floor. The palate is full-bodied, rich and seductive with incredibly perfumed fruit and a satiny texture, finishing very long.  Source: Interim December 2018 Week 1, The Wine Advocate

2011 Quilceda Creek - Palengat Vineyard

  • Rating: 95
  • Retail price: $115
  • Drink date: 2014-2029
  • Reviewed by: Jeb Dunnuck
  • Issue Date: June 25, 2014
  • A blend of 61% Merlot, 26% Cabernet Sauvignon, 9% Cabernet Franc and the balance Petit Verdot, the 2011 Palengat Vineyard has a great bouquet of sweet plum liqueur, blackberry, graphite, lead pencil shavings and toast. This is followed by a full-bodied effort that has beautiful concentration (especially in the vintage), loads of texture and ripe underlying tannic structure. Reasonably approachable now, it will nevertheless evolve gracefully on its overall balance. Enjoy bottles over the coming 10-15 years.  Source: 213, The Wine Advocate

2013 Scarecrow - Cabernet Sauvignon M. Etain

  • Rating: 95
  • Retail price: $250+
  • Drink date: 2020-2050
  • Reviewed by: Robert M. Parker, Jr.
  • Issue date: Dec. 30, 2015
  • The 2013 M. Etain Cabernet Sauvignon, which is hardly a second wine by any means, offers beautiful blackcurrant fruit with some cedar wood/sandalwood notes, an opulent, full-bodied mouthfeel, stunning purity, and that layered texture that is so enticing. The wine has a beautiful opaque purple color, hints of graphite, blueberry and blackberry fruit, a touch of licorice and the soil undertones that some would say are part of the so-called "Rutherford dust" scenario, although that's debatable. This wine has the sweetness and opulence to be drunk young, but won't hit its prime for at least another 5-8 years and keep for 20-30.  Source: 222, The Wine Advocate

2015 Kongsgaard - Cabernet Sauvignon

  • Rating: 94+
  • Retail price: $225+
  • Drink date: 2017-2029
  • Reviewed by: Lisa Perrotti-Brown
  • Issue date: Oct. 31, 2017
  • Deep garnet-purple colored, the 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon delivers notes of preserved plums, blueberry pie and blackcurrant pastilles with hints of chocolate box, cigar box, spice cake and pencil lead. Full-bodied very firm and very grainy in texture, it has tons of black fruit and spice layers, featuring a fresh blackberry and licorice character on the finish.  Source: 233, The Wine Advocate

2010 Kapcsandy Family Winery - Estate Cuvee State Lane Vineyard

  • Rating: 93
  • Retail price: $170+
  • Drink date: 2016-2036
  • Reviewed by: Robert M. Parker, Jr.
  • Issue date: Oct. 30, 2013
  • The 2010 Estate Cuvee State Lane Vineyard (100% Cabernet Sauvignon; 13.5% alcohol, identical to 2009) is a tightly knit, rich, dense, Bordeaux-inspired effort with a cooler climate mouthfeel as well as hints of bouquet garni, black currants, white chocolate, cassis and spicy oak. Some serious tannins kick in in the finish, so forget it for 3-4 years and drink it over the following two decades. I expect my rating may look conservative in 5-6 years.  Source: 209, The Wine Advocate

2011 Bryant Family Vineyard - Cabernet Sauvignon

  • Rating: 90-92
  • Retail price: $300+
  • Drink date: 2013-2025
  • Reviewed by: Robert M. Parker, Jr.
  • Issue date: Oct. 30, 2013
  • The softer, lighter 2011 Cabernet Sauvignon Pritchard Hill reveals no hint of herbaceousness. It offers lots of red and black currants intertwined with hints of blueberry liquor, fewer floral notes, and attractive, medium-bodied, juicy fruit that provides allure as well as opulence. Enjoy it over the next 10-12 years.  Source: 209, The Wine Advocate

2011 Williams Salyem - Westside Road Neighbors Russian River Valley Pinot Noir

  • Retail price: $90
  • 93 points - Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar - "Deep ruby. Powerful, seductively perfumed aromas of red and dark berry preserves, Asian spices and potpourri, with cola and vanilla nuances adding complexity. Stains the palate with vibrant black raspberry and cherry-cola flavors and picks up a smoky nuance with air. Shows impressive vivacity on the finish, which features silky tannins and a touch of candied rose." (6/2013)
  • 91 points - Wine & Spirits - "Bob Cabral blends this using fruit from Williams Selyem's estate and neighboring vineyards along Westside Road including Allen, Bacigalupi, Bucher and Rochioli Riverblock. It's a rich Russian River style, juicy and satin-textured, while the wine's firm tannins keep it savory and hold it to a crisp line. It's full enough to serve with braised lamb shoulder." (10/2013)
