The Well, the Tree, and the Three Ash McKernan At the heart of the Heathen cosmos exists a sacred tableau comprised of the Well of Wyrd, Yggdrasil, and the Nornir. Simultaneously near as near can be and far as far can be, each facet of this sacred trinity contains its own deep mysteries, wild medicine and guidance. In this contemplative, collaborative, and experiential workshop, we will explore the mystery teachings and healing-magic contained within the Well, the Tree, and the Three. What can we learn from them? What can we learn from their relationship to each other? And what practical guidance do they have to offer us about how to live our lives?

Working with Godly Treasures   Winifred Hodge Rose will present ideas for making and working with several treasures of the Deities.  We’ll begin by discussing how to design and work with our own Brisingamen as an expression and anchor for Freya’s influence in our lives, and a meditative exercise for emplacing the power of Thor’s Hammer within our energy field.  As time allows, we can discuss the development of our own Ghost-Ravens, and have an open discussion of other godly treasures that we might develop for our own use to bridge between the godly powers and our Midgard lives.

This introductory workshop is about approaching the Runes as spirits in and of themselves. The workshop explores what the lore can tell us about Them, to how to interact with Them, to appropriate offerings and communication, and will delve into deeper aspects of Runework from a spirit-based approach.

7:30 EST/0030 UTC Torture in Our Name Lauren Crow The National Religious Campaign Against Torture produced a film in 2022 entitled Torture in Our Name. In this compelling 35-minute documentary for faith audiences, filmmaker Matthew Gossage showcases the tenacity and resilience of people who have faced the torture of solitary confinement first-hand and are working to end it once and for all. The film traces the stories of campaigns in Louisiana, New Jersey, and New York in which survivors of solitary and their allies have mounted successful legislative campaigns in their respective states, with New Jersey and New York being the first two states in the nation to legislate bans on long-term isolated confinement. Through poignant interviews with survivors whose stories have caused lawmakers to take notice, as well as faith community leaders who share their own journeys of finding their voice in the movement, this film will leave you and your religious community inspired to get engaged. Let your light shine and find your place in the movement.

Tune in and prepare for your call to action. It’s time to say “no more” to the torture of solitary confinement, Torture in Our Name.

Digging the Dvergar: Developing Relationships with Dwarves Sarenth Óðinsson The Dvergar, Dwarves, are a group of vaettir, spirits, in Heathenry. These hardworking vaettir are legendary crafters, creating many powerful tools for the Gods, such as Óðinn’s spear Gungnir, Þórr’s Hammer Mjölnir, and Freyja’s Necklace Brisingamen. They are so much more than crafters. Come, and learn how to develop respectful, good relationships with Them!

Folk Magic 101: Creating Magic in Your Back Yard Lauren Crow In a world where the spiritual practices of marginalized people are often resold as "spirituality" to modern seekers, how can you find meaningful connections to the magic that surrounds us without engaging in stealing from cultures who have often been punished, criminalized, or abused for their practices? Folk magic offers an opportunity to find that magic by connecting with the local spirits of the land and the practices of those who have lived here for centuries.

This path leans far more on plant identification guides than mystical tomes, and has more in common with naturalists than high magic, however it is deeply rewarding to be able to find everything you need in your backyard to be able to work both hands of magic.

Communing with Ancestors Emily streakingfate Come and join Emily streakingfate for a ritual of connection and blessings with the Ancestors. This is a participatory ritual. We will begin with a brief introduction of Who the Ancestors and why we are honoring Them. This ritual will involve thanking our Ancestors for our lives, Their sacrifices, and Their support and blessings along the way. It will also include a guided meditation and time to commune with Them. We will present our offerings and ask for Their blessings for the year ahead. There will be time for Q&A and sharing at the end, where you can share what you wish. Feel free to bring a representation of your Ancestors and any ritual objects you wish to include. Please bring any offerings you wish to make, and a drink or treat for yourself at the end. Think on the ideas for what you want your Ancestors to bless in the coming year.
