From Page to Stage: Develop your script with the Moppets!

Participants must be 12 years old or older to register!

Scholarships are available. Please email rachel@moppets.org

"From Page to Stage" is a series of four workshops with Jeff Catanese and Marci Bernstein that will help you prepare your script idea for the stage!

Students will be able to start with anything they have in progress -- or even just an idea -- and develop it into a script that is ready to be performed as a one-act play. The series will culminate in an evening of Readers Theatre with a feedback panel of local theatre professionals. Enrolled students are expected to attend all four sessions.

The Basics - 2-5pm Saturday, October 7

We'll discuss the essential building blocks of your story, such as characters, plot, dialogue, etc.

What's the Big Idea? - 2-5pm Saturday, October 28

What's the story behind the story? We'll parse our plays to determine the THEME behind the work.

Chekov's Gun - 2-5pm Saturday, November 18

What is needed to better convey your idea? What can you get rid of to write more efficiently? What did you introduce just because you thought it was fun or cool that is completely unnecessary? Let's find out!

Show No Mercy - 4-7pm Saturday, December 9 (tentative)

Your drafts are meaningless! It's hard to grapple with getting rid of stuff you love for the greater good of the work, but Jeff and Marci are ready to help you do just that. In our last session, we'll work on honing the play without regard to what you've already done.
