Join Beavers Northwest for a special opportunity to participate in the 2024 Seattle-Tacoma City Nature Challenge. This is an annual hyperlocal and global event that invites us to document urban plants and animals using iNaturalist. INaturalist is a fun tool for biodiversity observations and provides an opportunity for cross-cultural sharing. We will be practicing how to identify signs of beavers and capturing observations of our natural ecosystems at Magnuson Park. We hope to end our event by observing beavers within the park!

The walk will last approximately 2 hours and participants will travel a distance of approximately 0.5 miles on flat gravel trails. We recommend wearing comfortable walking shoes and to dress for the weather. For best viewing of wildlife, we recommend bringing binoculars. We will have a few pairs available to borrow.

This event is free to attend, but we do ask that you please register below.

If you would like to participate in recording observations along the walk, please download the iNaturalist app before the event. Tutorials on how to use the app can be found here

We look forward to sharing our passion for beavers and wetlands with you!
