About the Speaker:

Angel Landrum is a Licensed Professional Counselor-Supervisor and Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor, having graduated from St. Edwards’s University with her Master of Arts in Counseling. Angel's career started in the corporate world after she received her Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Texas at Arlington. She has worked in various agencies and has a private practice in South Austin.

She is an EMDRIA Approved Consultant and Certified EMDR Therapist who works extensively with trauma, anxiety, substance use, and eating disorders within this modality. She enjoys facilitating process groups and offers several in her practice.

Giving back to her profession is a passion of hers, whether through her supervision, consultations, or advocacy for her profession. Angel enjoys being outside, especially in a city as amazing as Austin. She is usually riding her E-bike or hiking with her spouse.

Objectives:

• Understand the difference in the loss and grief experienced when the death was from substance abuse.

• Identify at least one method/theory/technique that can be used to assist the grievers when the loved one's death was due to long-term substance misuse.
