GREASE IS THE WORD! Get your high school cheer on and join us for a screening of the iconic movie, Grease.  Follow the story of good girl, transfer student Sandy and greaser Danny navigating the pitfalls of first love as high school students in the '50s.  Bring your friends, join in the songs and have a fun evening with us at Paramount Ranch!

A Paramount Pictures production, Grease was filmed in and around Los Angeles including at Leo Carillo State Beach (early beach scenes) now within the boundaries of the Santa Monica Mountains National Recreation Area. Other filming locations include the Los Angeles River Basin (Thunder Road) for the hot rod race. Gates open 4.30pm so you can enjoy this beautiful place and attend the tours.

So, tailgate, enjoy a picnic, mingle with friends and sit outside on your lawn chair to watch the movie. And talking of hot rods, you can also enjoy the car show of 1950s automobiles - perfect to celebrate Thunder Road and the racetrack that operated at Paramount Ranch in the same decade.

At the event you will find out about the Paramount Project, the campaign to rebuild the historic structures at the Ranch that were destroyed in the Woolsey Fire of 2018. More info:  https://samofund.org/paramount-project  And you can go on a walking tour of the property to learn more about the property's history.

Paramount Ranch lies within the boundaries of the Santa Monica Mountains National Recreation Area, the largest urban national park in the country.

Movies have been made at this site for upwards of a century. It has been the backdrop for Westerns, international dramas, car movies, horror flics, comedies, adverts and music videos.  As well as many well-loved TV productions.  Who can forget American Sniper, Westworld and Dr Quinn, Medicine Woman to name just a few of the recent productions made here. Going further back, Marco Polo, Herbie Rides Again and The Lake House are also on the list!

All proceeds from this event will go towards the rebuild.  Bring cash and a check book to take part in the fun raffle - some great gifts on offer!  The movie will start after 7pm.
