An online art event where 5X5 canvasses are created to raise funds for The Museum of Chincoteague Island. Many local celebrity artists enjoy participating in this fundraiser.

The Museum of Chincoteague's ArtSea Annual "5x5" Art Show & Online Auction is return this year, bigger and better than ever! This year, you will have the opportunity to come over and view the artwork at your leisure in the Museum of Chincoteague's Legacy Pavilion from May 3rd -May 7th from 11am-5pm daily. Another option, will be to stay in the comfort of your home and view the artwork online starting May 6th. Bidding will be done all online starting at 5:55 on May 7th and ending that same night at 8:00pm. Participants of any age have the opportunity to create works of art measuring 5x5 for sale in the auction. Anyone may participate, the only rule being the finished work must retain the 5x5 dimensions. There are a large variety of painted canvases in acrylic, watercolors, oil as well as a few other mediums new to ArtSea this year!

While the artwork may not be visibly signed, our well known, local celebrity Artists are again participating in the event this year. Artwork completed by adults will be auctioned with opening bids at $55. For works of art created by participants age 18 and under, opening bids start at $25. All purchased art will be availalbe for pick up in the Legacy Pavilion located on the Museum grounds, Sunday May 8th, from 10:00-12:00 & 3:00-5:00 pm

$45 Family Museum Membership

An Annual Family Membership to The Museum of Chincoteague Island includes all members of your immediate family and grandchildren. The Family Membership includes free admission to the Museum of Chincoteague Island, a 10% discount in our gift shop, invitations for exhibit openings, our monthly e-mail newsletter and a Museum supporter window decal.

$250 Corporate Membership

The Annual Corporate Membership to The Museum of Chincoteague Island includes six VIP passes for you and your employees to visit the Museum throughout the year. VIPs receive a 10% discount in our gift shop, invitations to our VIP Business After-Hours Events planned just for our corporate sponsors and their staff. Corporate Members also get a Museum window decal.

And a very special benefit to our Corporate Members is the opportunity to host your own private event, once each year in the Museum of Chincoteague Island's Legacy Pavilion for a 50% discount of the current rental rate!

$100 Sustaining Member

An annual Sustaining Member receives free admission to the Museum of Chincoteague Island for their family, a 10% discount in our gift shop, invitations for exhibit openings, our monthly e-mail newsletter, a Museum tote bag and a Museum supporter window decal.

$1,000 Museum Benefactor

This lifetime membership to The Museum of Chincoteague Island includes all other museum benefits plus being recognized by having your name displayed on the Benefactor's Wall in the Museum lobby area. Benefactors also enjoy a 50% discount on one Legacy Pavilion rental annually.

$5 Visit the Museum of Chincoteague Island

Next time you are on the island, please come visit us! The Museum of Chincoteague Island is only $5 for adults. Children 12 and under are free and active military personnel and their families are not charged. Come and see the original 1st Order Fresnel Lens from the Assateague Lighthouse, the Miles Hancock Carving Shed and, of course, Misty! Our exhibits are changed often, so if you've visited us before, surely there are new displays to view on your next visit.
