Since 2008, BCI has held an annual gala. Known today as Derby After Dark, this event combines all the fun of the Kentucky Derby with celebrating those who do great things to ensure opportunities for people with disabilities to achieve their full potential.
This year, Derby After Dark will be held on Saturday, May 6th from 4:00 to 9:00 PM at Ameristar Casino in St. Charles. Starting off with the Kentucky Derby race excitement and topping it off with live music, auctions, and dancing - this night is sure to be SPECTACULAR! Don't forget to wear your Kentucky Derby outfits, too! All this fun will raise funds for employment opportunities for adults with disabilities.
Event timeline:
4:00 PM: Doors open - cocktails, hors d’oeuvres, the silent auction, and the Derby wager table will be open!
5:24 PM: Livestream of the Kentucky Derby race
5:30 PM: Opening remarks and award presentations
6:00 PM: Dinner, program, and the live auction
7:30 PM: Live entertainment and dancing - live music by Fix Newton
9:00 PM: End of event
Boone Center, Inc. has been helping adults with disabilities find jobs they love since 1959. Our mission is to inspire and support adults with disabilities, challenging personal growth and development through a continuum of innovative employment opportunities. This year, BCI employed 273 adults with disabilities at our St. Peters and Lincoln County organizational employment facilities, had 25 graduates through the Skills Center, and placed 40 individuals into competitive employment in the community.

All proceeds from this event will go toward expanding our organizational employment facility, opening up 48 more jobs for individuals with disabilities. This not only gives these individuals employment, but also the opportunity to grow and develop skills, friendships, and memories to last a lifetime.

Individuals may also call (855) 888-7273 for reservations by Thursday, 04/06/23. Please inform the attendees to identify themselves as members of the BCI Derby Party and Gala Group, BOONE23 in order to receive the Group Rate. All reservations must be guaranteed and accompanied with a first night room deposit or guaranteed by credit card. Individual reservations that are not cancelled 48 hours prior to arrival will be charged for the first night's room and tax.

All reservations are required to submit credit card payment for the first night’s room and tax to confirm the reservation. A receipt will be included along with the confirmation information. Full refunds may be issued provided cancellation occurs 48 hours in advance of arrival.
