Youth Programming
While COVID-19 forces us to social-distance, Urban Roots youth programs have transitioned online. Urban Roots remains committed to growing the next crop of young leaders in Central Texas and is working rapidly to adapt our programs for virtual learning. More than ever, while furloughs sweep across every sector and industry, we believe in the importance of paying our interns. While youth programming continues virtually, please consider donating $100 to help us pay intern stipends!

Urban Roots Farm
As “nourishing the community” becomes more urgent, Urban Roots is working to increase the amount of produce we donate to Hunger Relief partners as well as diversify organizations we partner with and the communities we serve. Unfortunately, COVID-19 has forced us to pause youth and volunteer programming on the farm, resulting in the loss of the physical labor we rely on to feed our neighbors. We are calling on our community to help us purchase organic fertilizer, wax boxes, and tools so that we may continue to feed our shared community. Donate $50 to cover the cost of farm supplies!

Urban Roots Staff
While youth interns and volunteers are kept off the farm, Urban Roots staff is dutifully planting, tending, and harvesting produce on the farm. Our staff is proud to be nimble and responsive during this time. Unfortunately, reduced fundraising and an uncertain philanthropic landscape means that there are no guarantees about the future of our organization and its structure. We ask that you consider making a gift of $25 to help us pay our staff as they care for the Urban Roots Farm.
