Hans received a culinary degree from the Hotelfachschule, a culinary school in Pegnitz, Northern Bavaria in Germany. Upon completion, he enrolled in a work training program at the famous Rosenthal Casino in Selb. After graduating, Hans moved to Hamburg to start his career as a commis chef at the Hotel Am Holstenwall, a private boutique hotel. Three years after, Hans began working at Hilton International Hotel in London, shortly after, he immigrated to the United States continuing working for Hilton. At present, Hans is the Operations Manager/Chef Instructor at a privately held recreational school in Chicago. Chef Mooser will reach out directly to the winner regarding menu options. Our signature Introduction to Smalti Workshop is now available to you at home live online. You will explore the rich, colorful, traditional glass material known as smalti in a two, three-hour sessions. During the course of the workshop, students will create a 5" x 5" smalti artwork with the the kits that we will ship to you before the workshop. You will have the opportunity to learn about this unique material, it’s history, applications and cutting approaches. The workshop includes demonstrations on cutting with a hammer and hardie, a brief lecture on production of the material and it’s applications as well as examples of works created with smalti. Students will learn a lot about this versatile material as well as texture, and color and contrast. This is a great way to get comfortable and excited about smalti for your own work! |
