The presentation, Jurisprudence and Ethics for Nurses, addresses key components of the Texas Nursing Practice Act and ethical practice by applying the rules and regulations to real nursing situations.
The program explores the relationships among administrative, civil, and criminal branches of state law, including the consequences of decisions by each branch.
Case studies examine the nurse's responsibilities in the Nurse:Patient Relationship and professional boundaries.
The presentation covers recent legislative updates, including continuing education requirements for licensure renewal, nursing peer review, and safe harbor protections.
To receive contact hours for this continuing education activity, the participant must:
• Register on the registration form
• Attend the entire 2 hour session
• Complete and submit the evaluation form
Once successful completion has been verified, a “Certificate of Successful Completion” will be awarded for 2.0 contact hours.
