Ethan McCallister Tribute

In Memory and Honor of Rebuilding Together Atlanta Volunteer, Ethan McCallister

Ethan McCallister was a volunteer and supporter of Rebuilding Together Atlanta (RTA) whose life was taken tragically. Ethan will be dearly missed by our Board of Directors, staff, volunteers, and clients we serve.

With a firm belief in our life-changing mission to "repair homes, revitalize communities, and rebuild lives," Ethan dedicated himself to the service of those who needed safe and healthy housing across Greater Atlanta.

We were thankful and blessed to meet Ethan when he served as the lead of one of our Turner Construction Company projects in January 2021.  He reached out to RTA on his own because he "wanted to give back to the community."  When the RTA team met with Ms. Gemes and her family, Ethan felt an immediate attachment to Ms. Gemes because she reminded him of his grandmother.
Ethan has forever touched the lives of the RTA and Gemes family.

"My family and I would like to thank the many volunteer that helped with the rail project for my grandmother. My grandma is very grateful and has already made use of it. You guys are God sent. Thank you."

-Tamika, Ms. Gemes' Granddaughter

Due Ethan's leadership and commitment to serving his community alongside RTA and his colleagues at Turner, RTA launched a new partnership with Turner to continue improving the lives of residents across Atlanta. This inaugural event was held during Turner's Founders Day event in May, which Ethan was slated to volunteer for as the project manager. Turner has continued its commitment to the project and to do more in memory of Ethan's service to RTA.

All the donations made will be used to directly support homeowners who are in need of home repairs and modifications. Ethan's legacy and impact will be felt for years to come.

Thank you for supporting the mission and vision of Rebuilding Together Atlanta in Ethan's honor. We all keep Ethan's family, friends, and co-workers in our thoughts and prayers. Every donation made in Ethan's memory will be used to make home repairs for our neighbors in need across Greater Atlanta.
