Hello Powerful Journey Community,

We believe in giving back to the community, therefore each year we offer two different educational scholarships. The recipient of the 2021 Mildred Ida Byrd Pugh Education Scholarship is Berkley Vallot. Allow me to introduce you to deserving High School Graduating Senior.

Berkley is a Senior at Plano West Senior High in Plano, TX, she is a member of Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church also of Plano, TX. As a member of The National Society of High School Scholars since she was a sophomore, Berkley maintains a 3.8 GPA. She is a member of the Powerful Journey team, and entrepreneur serving in the capacity of social media management. 

Berkley also serves as Chaplain of the Lambda Upsilon Sigma Alumnae Chapter Rhoer Club of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. She starts meetings with prayer, seeking guidance and productivity of the meeting and club overall. 

Her hobbies include reading, writing, playing violin, exploring social media trends, online shopping and hanging out with family and friends. 

Starting Fall 2021, Berkley will be matriculating from The University of North Texas pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Journalism.
