How do I create a Solar Plunge fundraising team? Use the "Create a fundraiser" link on this page (just below the OTHER button above) then choose "Create your own fundraiser". Give your team a wacky name, then simply provide the fundraising link to your solar plunge teammates. Tell them to create their own "fundraiser" page and send their link to friends and family, asking them to make a small donation ($20, $50 or $100) to the team challenge. All donations from team members roll up to the main team kitty.
How do I become a member of an existing team? If you received a team link from an existing team captain, click the "Join Team" link on that page then choosing "Join an existing team". Otherwise click the "Create a fundraiser" link and then choose "Join an existing team". After you join a team you can set up your own "fundraising" page from there, using the directions noted above. Then simply email your personal URL link to your own group of supporters and all donations you recieve roll up to the main team name.
How do I donate to a team, so I don't have to jump in a lake?
There are two ways to donate to the Solar Plunge challenge:
- Using the URL link your team provided to you via email, simply select the amount you want to donate, enter your payment information and that’s it, your donation will automatically be linked to your team.
- Or text "2021" to this number (855) 731-9434 to make a general donation to the Solar Plunge challenge itself.
How and when does my team attend the Solar Plunge event?
Solar Plunge teams who raise a minimum of $500 by July 15th will be sent a Golden Ticket (email) with details on where and when to arrive. We will communicate all the details in the email to the team captains, so they can communicate with their teammates.
