Phyt Cares is the 501c3 U.S. tax-exempt and 1101.01 Puerto Rico tax-exempt arm of Phyt Gym founded by Jonas Serrano and co-founded by Elana Margulies-Snyderman that educates youth and communities in New York City, Puerto Rico and the world through fitness. Our hearts go out to everyone that was impacted by the global COVID-19 pandemic and racial injustice. During these challenging times that no one was immune to, our mission has never been more urgent to touch more lives through our fitness programs and empower our participants to deal with adversity and overcome obstacles.
During COVID-19, we launched Virtual Phytness 1-on-1 personal training and small group classes to empower youth and communities worldwide through fitness and wanted to thank numerous alternative investment professionals, in particular women, for their tremendous support to make this happen. We also empowered local first responders and opened our doors to them to seek refuge and relieve stress. Finally, we have partnered with testing clinics to provide COVID-19 testing to our communities to do our part to help in the fight against this pandemic.
Prior to the pandemic, in New York City, we continued our long-standing partnership with the Department of Education and 8th graders at Issac Newton Middle School to prepare them for high school. We also formed a new partnership with the Young Adult Institute (YAI) which supports people of all ages with disabilities. Finally, we continued our long-standing International Women's Day event where we welcome over a dozen women in financial services for an evening of self-defense, boxing and conditioning.
In Puerto Rico, we created a program to empower incarcerated women on the Island and those in need of refuge from domestic violence. We also continued to sponsor, support and train professional and amateur athletes make their professional debut in competitions. Finally, we continued to provide programs for youth and their families to empower kids with the importance of fitness at a young age and enhance family bonds.
Phyt Cares is extremely proud that all the money raised goes directly to the communities we serve since we don't have any employees.
