The Notre Dame Club of Austin (NDCOA) is excited to offer families and friends of Notre Dame, St. Mary’s and Holy Cross an opportunity to participate in the 2023 Notre Dame Global Day of Service with VELA, an Austin, TX based nonprofit founded in 2010. VELA’s mission is to empower underserved Spanish and English-speaking parents of children with disabilities.  We will be helping them with VELA's Family Fun Day. These are play for all abilities events with the ultimate goal of helping families and kids build community and natural support systems. Kids can come and play as they are without fear of judgement. All activities are designed to be accessible by all. Families attending will enjoy all-inclusive games, Spring themed arts and crafts, and yummy snacks! As a volunteer, you will help with set-up, running activities, and/or break-down after the event.

When:          Saturday, April 29, 2023

Where:         4900 Gonzales St, Austin, TX 78702 (Note: in the gym located off Mansell Ave)

What Time:  NDCOA will offer three different shift options:

  • All Day: 11:00AM – 3:30PM
  • AM: 11:00AM – 1:00PM
  • PM: 12:30PM – 3:30PM

What to Expect:

  • Assist with venue set-up/breakdown (prior to and at the end of the event)
  • Help move tables, chairs, and materials as needed 
  • Layout of activities
  • Decorating the venue
  • Run the activity stations for families (ex: bowling, food table, etc)
  • Lots of smiles

All ticket sales are stopped at this time. You can still make a donation. Please contact the event organizers if you have any questions.
GENERAL
Free All Day Volunteer(s)

Reserve one ticket for EACH person volunteering to help ALL DAY from 11AM-3:30PM. 

Before finishing your registration, please provide the name of each person coming with you and add a note with the age of any volunteers who are 16 or younger; use the "Update" button to save this information for each volunteer.

INSTRUCTIONS: To edit the name and add notes, first click the green "edit guest info" button for each space reserved, add the first and last name of each volunteer; if volunteer is also 16 or younger, then click the blue "add note" button and enter the age of the volunteer (i.e. Age 12).  BE SURE TO CLICK the Blue "UPDATE" button to SAVE the information entered for EACH volunteer.
