Nick Charles - My Merivis Story:
It was 8:00AM on that Austin, TX, Saturday morning. I had no idea what to expect at my first "networking" event. I was nervous. That didn't last long. As I walked in, there she was: THE Steph Herrera. She's a member of the Merivis Board of Directors, but you couldn't tell. At the time, she was the "Welcome!! Have you met XYZ..." girl. There was a Merivis cohort of roughly 10 folks going through training modules with their mentors and just chatting about career experiences in Salesforce... I found just what I was looking for.
Merivis is now my second family.
People sharing ideas, best practices, laughing, learning, GROWING... more importantly, GROWING TOGETHER. I had never seen anything like it. I was suggested to attend based off the recommendation of Hector Perez, the founder of Merivis, in a blindly shot email where I was asking if he knew of any leads on growing a Salesforce career.
"Get involved with the Salesforce community. Have you been attending Salesforce Saturday?" He wrote.
He knew what he was doing then. He knows what he's doing now. Turns out that his wife, Kate Perez, is equally as supportive and encouraging as he is... and she's the executive director!
Never have I seen such a passionate, motivated, encouraging, supportive, and caring group of professionals dedicated to making sure our warfighters who are transitioning to the civilian sector they fought to protect, have the tools they need to THRIVE.
I believe in all that Merivis is and stands for.
Please join me in this Veteran's Day fundraiser to support our next generation of transitioning warfighters to becoming the civilian professionals they're capable of becoming through amazing coaching, training, mentoring, and supporting functions of our very own Merivis Foundation.
Merivis Foundation supports veterans preparing for their next missions through training, mentorship and job readiness for Salesforce cloud technology positions. With a growing need for Salesforce certified professionals and an increasing number of underemployed of veterans in the country, we bridge the gap to help veterans transition to civilian life and find great careers. Since we started in 2015, Merivis has impacted the lives of nearly 100 military veterans by supporting them in their transition to civilian careers. Through our Salesforce training programs, we've put them on the path to growing, in-demand technology roles and we couldn't have done it without every member of the Merivis community.
