The Fleet Science Center’s annual in-person fundraiser returns on Saturday, June 25, 2022. **Put on your detective’s hat and purchase your ticket to solve the Mystery at the Museum at this gala event featuring an elegant wine-paired dinner. Access to clues begins Sunday, June 19 with the launch of a weeklong online silent auction of wines and experience packages.**

All registered Silent Auction participants will be entered into a free drawing to win a free private documentary screening in the Heikoff Giant Dome Theater for up to 30 guests.

No purchase is necessary to enter the drawing. Participants must be at least 18 years of age to register for the Silent Auction. The winner will be chosen and notified the week of June 27, 2022.

Event Details:

Your Mystery at the Museum ticket, auction purchase or donation will support the Fleet Science Center’s many education and community programs, helping the Fleet connect everyone in San Diego to the power of science.

Online Silent Auction – bid on wine and experience packages beginning Sunday, June 19 at 5pm, auction closes Sunday, June 26 at 12:00pm after the in-person gala. Registration and access to the online silent auction is free!

Mystery at the Museum gala event will be held in-person at the Fleet Science Center on Saturday, June 25 at 6pm and features a wine-paired dinner, curated by Gary Parker, Founder of the WineSellar and Brasserie.

General Schedule:

6:00pm - Reception in the upstairs galleries with wine, hors d'oeuvres, games and clues

7:15pm - Live program in the Heikoff Giant Dome Theater, featuring the solution to our mystery Grape Day 1936: The Disappearing Barrel, the conclusion of the silent auction and a live auction and paddle raise.

7:45pm - Seated wine paired dinner designed by Chef Andrew Spurgin and Gary Parker (Tables seat eight and will be placed to allow additional space between guests.)

COVID-19 Information:

The Museum is following state and local guidelines to help protect against the spread of COVID-19. Masks are no longer required, but are strongly recommended inside the Museum for all guests. Please check back the week of the event, June 19, for current requirements.

Connect kids to science this summer through the Fleet Science Center’s in-person camps and summer school programs.  

There is a record demand for summer camps at the Fleet Science Center and for off-site education programs. Your gift will help the Fleet hire additional educators and work collaboratively with schools and other providers to meet student needs.

$7,500 Public Programming/StudioX and FLEETtv

Keep enthusiastic families heading to the Fleet Science Center in person and online.

Your gift at this level can support hands-on science workshops in Studio X and the creation FLEETtv programming that offers fun science activities kids can do at home.

$5,000 Inspiring Young Women in STEM

Your gift can connect girls to STEM role models and to other girls who love science through the Fleet Science Center's BE WiSE and SciTech programs. 

SciTech engages 4-5 grade girls in hands on science activities and BE WiSE (Better Education for Women in Science and Engineering) offers unique STEM experiences to girls in 7-12 grade. Both programs inspire young women by connecting them to women working in a variety of STEM fields. Your support will help these programs serve over 1,000 girls each year.

This program has adapted to help teachers connect to each other to share best practices in this new and changing environment. Suds & Science and special Lecture Series continue to be online successes. And Sharp Minds/Senior Mondays is back as a monthly in-person program! Your support of these programs will connect adults in our community to science.

The Fleet’s Young Scientists Club continues to serve kids aged 3-5 with fun and educational science activities. Your gift can ensure that our youngest scientist still have access to this crucially important development opportunity.
