Our vision is to “...seek the peace of the city” (Jeremiah 29:7). If the individuals and families in the city flourish, so does the city. It’s no secret that Austin is quickly changing. Austin is not a city that is at peace with itself right now. The growth of Austin, increased cost of living and lack of wage increases means that many of our friends and neighbors are facing a dim future as they struggle to provide for their families. God’s love compels us to fight for their future!

About River City Hope Street (RCHS)
River City Hope Street (RCHS) is a Christian non-profit established in 1999 and currently located in Cedar Park, TX. River City Hope Street’s mission is to break the cycle of poverty by opening doors to brighter futures through low-cost, faith-based, adult education, job skills training, and mentoring for unemployed and underemployed adults in Greater Austin.
River City Hope Street (RCHS) is nationally affiliated and certified by CHRISTIAN WOMEN’S JOB CORPS (CWJC®) and CHRISTIAN MEN’S JOB CORPS (CMJC®) ministries which serves thousands of individuals through more than 200 registered sites in 45 states and in five countries.
We offer the following courses: ESL, Digital Literacy (Introduction to Computers), Pre-apprentice Plumbing, and Career Jump Start (Job Search, Resume, Interview). In the Fall of 2022, we will add the courses: Introduction to Entrepreneurship and Citizenship. We are also looking to launch a Pre-apprentice Electrician course in 2022. Through spiritual encouragment, supportive community and practical training, we empower our participants to overcome poverty and step towards earning a living wage.
