Foundation for Ophthalmological Care From the United States, or FOCUS, is a Barrington based 501(c)(3) public charity (EIN #36-6112617) fighting blindness in the developing world since 1961. Our mission is to train, equip, and supply local eye care providers to increase local capacity in a sustainable way. FOCUS is a 100% volunteer based organization, with board members who are internationally recognized for their work in global ophthalmology.
We recently completed a USAID Childhood Blindness Program in Haiti to increase pediatric ophthalmology capacity and the development of a retinopathy of prematurity (ROP) program to prevent permanent blindness in the most vulnerable. This program was part of our NO MORE BLIND BABIES campaign and we need your help to keep it going.
