We are so excited to share that Fisher House of the Emerald Coast, Inc. will host our 15th annual Helping Heroes, Black Tie is Back Gala, scheduled for October 27th at the Destin-Fort Walton Beach Convention Center.  Similar events have sold out gratefully and have raised a combined total over $362,000 since 2016 thanks to generous community support.  This new location, with MORE space will create the ideal atmosphere for fans of Fisher House to come together in one big room in support of our mission, helping military families in their time of medical need. 

 

Creative, fun and memorable approaches are ALWAYS included with the marketing of this year’s, must-attend event.  We are confident that you will agree this evening is THE place to show your affection for our military in a BIG way, a little means a lot!  Life is best enjoyed when we are together! 

 

About Us

Our Fisher House on Eglin AFB, allows families to stay together, and most importantly, heal together. It serves families of active-duty personnel, retirees, reservists and veterans from all branches of the military and is open to anyone while being treated at a local medical facility.  Funds raised are used for things needed to operate a home, as well as unexpected needs to make a family feel more at home. With the Intrepid Spirit Center opening and becoming fully operational, our occupancy numbers are expected to exceed our capacity and we need to be ready for the second house with your help.  Even during 2020, no families were turned away.  All of this is provided free of charge thanks to generous donations and recent upgrades include common area furniture, exterior structure painting and concrete resurfacing, kitchen cabinets and state of the art audio visual.  A whole house generator is next – because we live in Florida and want our families to feel protected and safe throughout all kinds of weather.  We can’t always stop the hurt but we can provide some of the comfort, with your help.
