Thanksgiving and Christmas are always difficult times for our residents because many of them have lost connections with their family and friends and have nowhere to go to celebrate the Holidays. As part of our family-like environment, we offer Thanksgiving Dinner, along with Christmas Dinner, to our residents and community members. We need your help to prepare the dishes to be served, as well as volunteer to serve the meal to our residents and guests.
"Having Thanksgiving here gives me a sense of feeling at home when you don't have a home, and even though I'm not with my family, I can still make the best of what I have here and be thankful. And celebrate Thanksgiving with my new found family here at The 24!" Kaitlyn T., a former resident
Details
1. We need a variety of prepared dishes to serve at the meal. If you can provide a prepared dish, please sign up, then deliver the dish to Dallas 24 Hour Club anytime Wednesday or before 11:00 am on Thanksgiving Day. We won't be able to cook the dishes, so please make sure all dishes are ready to be served in disposable service ware. (We will be able to keep the dishes warm prior to serving.) Dinner will be served from 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm.
2. We also need cheerful servers! Choose times to set up or serve.
3. If you or someone you know is in need of a holiday meal and a sense of community/family, please join us! We would love to serve you, too.
If you have questions, please reach out to april@Dallas24HourClub.org.
