Position Summary

The volunteer check-in will be responsible for greeting all attendees at the front entrance and ensuring a warm welcome. They will also be responsible for counting all attendees as they enter the festival by using a clicker.

  • Ensure all guests are greeted i.e., the general public, artists, vendors, and volunteers
  • Count all guests entering the festival by clicking the clicker.

  • Unloading equipment from vehicles and setting up fairgrounds for the festival
  • Erecting tents
  • Ensuring the event space is clean and organized.
  • Adhering to event safety standards
  • Setting up vendor areas, i.e., vendor, performing activities
  • Dispensing useful information to a guest
  • Inspecting equipment for damage after use and checking it against an inventory list

Position Summary

The parking attendant will be responsible for ensuring the flow of parking for all guests, vendors, and artist vehicles parked in the designated parking area during the event. Attendants will guide vehicles upon entry to the lot and confirm their designated area. Volunteers who sign up for this position are encouraged to bring materials to occupy their time when not assisting attendees. (Music, Magazines)

 

Responsibilities

  • Ensure participants have a clear understanding of where to go. 
  • Assist with traffic flow area parking lots.
  • Assist with shuttles as needed.
  • Great customer service 

 

Skills Needed

  • Assertive but courteous personality with the ability to interact with motorists as they approach the fairgrounds and redirect to other parking if necessary.

 

Requirements

  • Volunteers must be 14 years of age or older.
  • Must be able to sit/stand for long periods.
  • Volunteers can sit in a chair stationed in the designated lot. You should dress for the weather and be comfortable working alone.

 

Training

Event staff will explain the parking process for this position upon arrival. Parking attendant volunteers will be given a list of sponsors, staff, vendors, and artists who are eligible to park in the designated parking areas. All attendees will park on the fairgrounds or overflow parking areas. Once training is completed, all parking attendants will receive proper PPE.

Sanitation Technician

Position Summary

The sanitation technician will be responsible for making sure that trash cans are placed in designated areas and emptied when appropriate, for making sure that port-o-potties are placed in designated areas, for directing persons to pop-up-recycling bins, and for seeing that toilets inside and outside the building are clean and supplied with necessities, toilet paper, paper towels, sanitizer, and soap.

Responsibilities

  • Make sure that trash cans are placed in designated areas.
  • Make sure that trash cans, when complete, are emptied into dumpsters.
  • Ensure that port-o-potties and toilets are working correctly and have the necessary supplies.
  • Respond if someone is concerned about trash, port-o-potties, or recycling.

Skills Needed

  • Courteous, able to lift and transport trash bags.

Requirements

  • Volunteers must be 16 years of age or older.
  • Must be able to walk reasonably well.
  • Wear comfortable clothing and shoes.
  • Ability to lift and carry trash bags to the dumpster.

Training

  • Event staff will train the tasks of the sanitation attendant at the designated training event and upon arrival, if necessary.

Security by the stage will also ensure no items get stolen. The security team will be able to identify all staff, vendors, and artists.

  • Ensure participants have a clear understanding of where to go. 
  • Assist with traffic flow on fairgrounds.
  • Watch all locked gates and authorized areas. 
  • Great customer service 
  • Deescalate any issues that may arise.

  • Assertive but courteous personality with the ability to interact with guests while walking around the festival. 

Requirements

  • Volunteers must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Must be able to stand or walk for long periods.

Position Summary

Typical setup activities include dismantling tents, taking down the pipe and drape configuration, breaking down tables and chairs, assisting with barricades, taking down event signage, and helping with audio-visual equipment.

  • Loading equipment to vehicles and breaking down setup from the festival
  • Dismantling tents
  • Ensuring the event space is clean
  • Adhering to event safety standards
  • Breaking down vendor areas, i.e., vendor, performing activities
  • Moving guests off the premises to close down the event
