| This gorgeous painting is by Louise Numina, an Anmatyerre artist who lives in Central Australia. With various shades of purple, swirling in a dream like state, this is original painting will be a lovely conversation piece for any home or office space. Painted on canvas, it measures 16"x20". The painting deplicts the Bush Medicine Plant, an Australian native that grows wild in Central Australia. Women collect leaves from these plants, and then boil the leaves to extract resin. Then kangaroo fat is mixed into the resin, creating a past that can be stored for a long time in bush conditions. The medicine is used to heal cuts, wounds, rashes, and also acts as an insect repellent. By painting about "Bush Medicine" Louise is paying homage to the spirit of the medicine plant in the hopes that it will regenerate, enabling the poeple to continue to benefit from its healing properties.
