4th Annual Camp Moody Creek Clean Up - We will be cleaning up our half-mile stretch of Onion Creek, picking up debris and litter, and pruning low branches. Onion Creek is our wildlife’s water source and is one of the most beautiful features of the Camp Moody property. Volunteers will get to enjoy beautifying nature trails, fishing areas, canoe launch, and fossil area in and along the creek. We are so excited to have your help and dedication to creating a beautiful space For All.
Upon Arrival:
- The Camp Moody entrance is just past the new Buda Elementary school (on the right-hand side if you’re looking at the front of the school).
- Follow the long driveway (please drive slow!). You will pass the Camp Moody Wellness Center. Follow the signs toward the open-air pavilion. Park near the pavilion.
- Meet us at the check-in table to sign your waiver and get breakfast. We will gather together at 8:45 for a welcome and instructions.
What to Wear:
- Closed-toe shoes. If you have waterproof rubber boots, you can wear them to wade in the creek, but no problem if you don’t!
- Long Pants
- Please take into consideration that you will be working in areas with thorns and potentially poison ivy or poison oak.
- Wear layers—it will be chilly in the morning but should turn into a beautiful sunny day.
What to Bring:
- Refillable water bottle We Will have drinking water on hand
- Work gloves if you have them (we will have plenty extra)
What we’ll Provide:
- Water and snacks, (feel free to bring your own snacks if you have dietary restrictions)
- Gloves and hand tools
- First Aid Kit
