Constellations is our first annual spring gala. An opportunity to share with some of our strongest supporters and others who are doing important work in the community about our mission and organization.
The evening will consist of a cocktail hour with silent auction, a formal dinner, as well as speakers and entertainment. The event will be decorated, and attire will be thematic, making the event Waco’s own version of the Met Gala. So dress to the nines to your own interpretation of "Constellations" and join Wild Imaginings at the Waco Art Center the evening of Thursday, May 4th.
As Waco’s first professional theatre company, our gala is intended to be a premiere event that people look forward to each year, wherein not only is it a beautiful evening unto itself but we can share about the work we are doing, the plans we have upcoming, and the vision we have for theatre in Waco.
We are well aware that we can’t engage in the meaningful work of producing new and innovative work without the support of people and businesses like you. We hope to continue to gain community support and would love you’re your business to sponsor our event and learn more about what we do and how you can take more active part.
And what will your support mean for us? We've identified several key funding areas that we are prioritizing moving into this coming year:
- Paying our actors and creatives. We believe in paying those who give of their time and immense talent because we want Waco to be a city that attracts those who want to spend their professional lives creating.
- Providing our Artistic Director and his team with a livable salary. We have grown due to the loving investment of Trent Sutton and those who work with him. But a full time job that is largely volunteerism isn't sustainable. We want to pay the people who make this organization and this work possible.
- Furthering our workshop and world premiere efforts. Waco is on its way to being a place where new theatre flourishes. By being able to not only pay playwrights for their work, but bring them to Waco to see their work come to life, we further Waco's name on the national theatrical landscape.
- Technology that enables digital distribution. We have a national, and even international, reach with our Epiphanies New Works Festival and with our podcast, but we need improved technology to film performances and workshops, so that we can sell digital tickets to those outside of Waco who are invested in our work.
All donations are tax deductible and directly impact the artists who are seeking to live and work in this incredible city.
