All proceeds raised will support three important causes: First5 Fox Valley,  an international project and Polio Plus. Chuck and Barb Merry have generously pledged a matching gift of $1,000 in support of First5 Fox Valley.  In the past 14 years, the Rotary Club of Appleton has donated over $600,000 of which $500,000 has had local impact supporting COTS, NAMI, Building for Kids, Riverview Gardens, Community Cloths Closet, YMCA, Boy Scouts, Appleton Area School District (supporting children with disabilities) and more. Over $200,000 has been provided in scholarships to local high school students for post-secondary education. Your support allows the Rotary Club of Appleton to continue making an impact in our community.

All children in the Fox Valley are safe, healthy and able to reach their full potential.

First Five Fox Valley will cultivate a community that empowers and supports every family to build a solid foundation for children in their first five years.

Calumet, Outagamie and Winnebago counties share a common definition for a child who thrives.

Families in our tri-county region:

  • understand all aspects of their child’s healthy development
  • use available social supports and resources
  • have a centralized access point to resources and services

The Fox Valley community partners with families to enhance the education and health of their children by:

  • advocating for policy that supports families
  • coordinating systems
  • committing financial resources
  • having agreement on how to measure progress
  • sharing data
  • developing a system of shared measures
  • providing alignment, engagement and collaboration across all sectors
  • understanding gaps in services
  • communicating effectively

Polio Eradication-  Provides for approximately 5 polio immunizations. Rotary has been working to eradicate polio for more than 35 years and has helped to reduce polio cases by more than 99.9 percent.  It’s crucial to eradicate polio from the last two countries where it remains endemic and to keep other countries polio-free.  If all eradication efforts stopped today, within 10 years, polio could paralyze as many as 200,000 children each year. Funds are still needed to continue immunization and surveillance efforts.
