In honor of my Uncle Joe who celebrated his 15th wedding anniversary with his bride, my Aunt Cindy in January, and then passing shortly after from Luekemia on February 27th, my auntie's birthday. Every Valentine's season since then, has always reminded me of their last one together. The worry they shared with doctor appointments and bad news, while the stores were stocked full of red hearts and flowers. Their hearts were breaking as his health declined and his fate became more and more certain, and flowers began to be sent in sympathy rather than the season of love and excitement. My heart hurts as I even type this many years after. I reached out to my Auntie as we started planning our year calendar of events and outreaches and I asked if there was something I could do to honor my Uncle's passing in January and February and after brainstorming we narrowed down to 2 things that reminded us of him. One was food, he was a chef and an excellent one at that, and two was his rose tattoo that was on his arm that eventually became the inspiration of my own rose leg tattoo. So Flowers and Food from Joe was born!  

Our goal is to reach out to the lonely warriors, surviving widows and wandering wanderers on and around Valentine's Day with gifts of flowers or a small plant and a steak dinner, in the form of gift cards or an Omaha Steak Delivery. In the meantime we will be collecting a list of Warriors, Widows and Wanderers that could use the thoughtful pickme up this season. Your gift will help us reach those near and far with such a gift, while also helping to grow our camp fund after our list is taken care of.
