Join Kids In A New Groove for the 7th annual Music Matters Luncheon on November 13th as we celebrate why music matters to our community!
Myra Gleason, a motivational speaker, will deliver the keynote address. Myra has spent the past 10 years working with kids in foster care, utilizing music as a means to move trauma and embrace the emotional complexities many of them face while in the foster care system. She has appeared on stages such as TEDx as well as educating audiences on the road in her band, Stereo RV. Currently a full-time musician, she recently released an EP called "Human," inspired by her work with children in foster care. While encouraging audiences to embrace their own tender area of development, she aims to help others realize the traumas and victories that tie us together through her music and speaking.
Kids In A New Groove will also unveil the 2020 KING Concert Club artists, with past KING Concert Club artists including Shakey Graves, Wild Child, Midland, David Ramirez, Los Coast, Jackie Venson, and more.
All proceeds from the Music Matters Luncheon and 2020 KING Concert Club series benefit Kids In A New Groove's Mentoring through Music program, providing Central Texas youth in foster care with free, weekly, in-home music lessons and mentorship.
