Three nights on a mutually agreed upon date within one year of auction. Winning bidder must be a JAWS member or friend or relative of a JAWS member. Escape the stress of your real world and come to Bainbridge Island, a short and beautiful ferry ride across the Puget Sound from Seattle. Our guest suite above the garage has its own entrance and features a double bed, en suite bathroom and a food prep area with sink, microwave and small frig. You'll be able to enjoy our gardens and nearby trails, try the Bainbridge Distillery's award-winning whiskey or stop for a tasting at one of our seven wineries, stroll by the water at Fay Bainbridge Park or shop til you drop at the eclectic array of boutiques in our small commercial strip known as Winslow and visit the Bainbridge Island Museum of Art, a small gem of Northwest creativity. Save time for the Japanese American Exclusion Memorial that marks the spot from which local citizens were deported to camps during WWII. To understand local history, also take a short drive over the Agate Pass Bridge to visit the Suquamish Tribal Center. Wifi, access to kitchen in house, bikes available (bring your own helmet). She was transferred to Washington, D.C., to cover a Southwestern regional beat for the AP in Congress in 1968. She covered the assassination in Dallas of President John F. Kennedy in 1963, including being an eyewitness in the Dallas jail to the shooting of Lee Harvey Oswald. In 1975, Simpson covered the United Nations Conference on Women in Mexico City. When the AP was sued for gender discrimination, she joined the lawsuit. Her bureau chief called her a "stupid bitch." Simpson also has covered national politics for the Boston Herald and national economic issues for Hearst Newspapers for five years. She opened a Washington bureau for Ms. Magazine to cover the women's political rights movement. When Eastern Europe was transitioning into democracy in the 1990s, Simpson covered the transformation.
