Who is Bob Soltero
Bob was born November 5, 1927 and grew up in the west-side community of Kansas City, MO where he experienced a lot of discrimination and prejudice. At 17, in November of 1944, he enlisted in the Navy. After his discharge in 1948, Bob returned to Kansas City where he married Carmen Tinoco and returned to the restaurant business. Bob has served on the Guadalupe Centers’ board of directors for over 10 years. He was a sponsor of both the center’s culinary arts school and Guadalupe Centers High School. Bob has also had a life-long love of golf, caddying as a young boy, starting to play golf at 15, and spending more than 20 years working at the Swope Memorial Golf Course.
