I am on the Board of Directors for the Council on Aging Southern California. Its mission is simple: "Promoting the independence, health and dignity of older adults through compassion, education and advocacy." The Council operates from 93 locations, covering almost 42,000 square miles in Southern California, and services more than 240,000 seniors and disabled adults through its many programs. You can learn more about COASC at www.coasc.org.
One of my favorite programs is the SmileMaker's Holiday Gift Program. It ensures that seniors are remembered during the holidays and lets them know we care. I could speak forever about SmileMaker's but just watch this video to learn more: https://youtu.be/PWnWXrwr6tQ (FYI - I am even in it!)
Please contribute to my team - Veronica's Warriors - to help me reach my goal of $5,500. Just donate what you can. Every dollar counts. $25 buys a gift for a senior.
Join us at our virtual 2020 An Evening of Comedy. Our annual event is unique this year due to COVID -19. It will be a live streamed comedic hour of humor, fun and compassion for their mission.
Three amazing comedians, Jay Mohr, Fritz Coelman and Frances Dilorinzo will be entertaining us on October 3rd, at 7 p.m. as a celebration of this virtual fundraising campaign effort taking place now through October 3rd, 2020. Because we will not have a silent or live auction as part of the event this year, it is your personal contribution that will provide the necessary funding to support SmileMaker's.
Thank you for joining me in making a difference in the lives of seniors in nursing homes in our local SoCal communities.
My very best, Veronica
