Benedictines for CHUM
$1,100 raised

We are the hands through which God blesses the world.

Prioress Sister Beverly Raway and Sister Kathleen Hofer (CHUM Board trustee)

at the annual CHUM Christmas Eve Vigil for people who experienced homelessness

and who died over the past year.

The Benedictine Sisters of St. Scholastica Monastery invite you to their table at the 2020 CHUM Virtual Fundraiser & Silent Auction – where all are welcome.

The best measure of the health of our society is how we treat our most vulnerable citizens. In 1986 the Catholic Church declared that, “No one may claim the name of Christian and be comfortable in the face of hunger, homelessness, insecurity, and injustice found in this country and the world.”

The Benedictine Sisters have followed in Christ’s footsteps, loving and serving the people of Duluth for 128 years, with especial concern for those who need it most.

We know that you, too, embrace our common humanity and are eager to help those in need. You are invited to walk with us to raise awareness about homelessness in Saint Louis County. Experience firsthand the power of many working together.

Because of the economic turmoil of the pandemic, homelessness in Duluth is rising. The CHUM shelter is at or near capacity every night – and it is still warm outside. The Minnesota winter is coming. Now is the time to take action.

We invite you to journey where everything you do for this fundraiser matters. The time you spend, the stories you share, and the money you raise all make a difference. All of the funds raised are reinvested directly back into CHUM to support the homeless and low-income families in the community.
