About a year ago Kason's teacher told his family that he was exhibiting some new behaviors including being very wiggly, chewing on his shirt, and having anger outbursts over small things. After being referred to a neurologist, Kason was diagnosed with Pediatric Autoimmune Neuropsychiatric Disorder Associated with Streptococcal Infections (PANDAS). This occurs when a strep infection triggers a misdirected immune response and results in inflammation in the brain. 

Kason experiences outbursts of anger where he is inconsolable, and OCD. He has seen a functional neurologist for almost a year and practices brain exercises at home 3 times a week. Kason has participated in numerous tests to find new paths of medicine to manage his symptoms.

Kason is an outdoor enthusiast. He loves climbing trees, building forts, playing at parks, riding mountain bikes, camping, hunting, and fishing. He also loves creating drawings for others and caring for his little sister.
