Cade's family suspected he had a medical condition early in his life. Cade struggled to learn how to walk and would fall all the time -approximately 100 times in the course of an hour and also experienced delayed speech. After several rounds of testing regarding his vision and hearing, Cade's family was referred to a neurologist.
The neurologist suspected Cade had Ataxia Telegenesia (AT), which only 500 children in the world have. This condition is a degenerative brain disorder that has been known as a death wish by the age of 8. An MRI showed that Cade has cerebellar degeneration, but the reason for this is unknown. The family has seen several of the top doctors in the world, undergone numerous tests and genetic panels, and everything is negative - resulting in an unknown diagnosis. One mitochrondrial expert says Cade is the only child in the world with this unique combination of conditions.
Cade's family says that God is still good and in charge! Cade is happy-go-lucky, easy going, and loves everything involving cars. He is a huge fan of Sonic the Hedgehog and Lightning McQueen. He laughs with his whole body and is constantly smiling.
