#MakeATXBRAVE Community Nourishment campaign is to Build Relationships, Awareness, Voices, and Engagement, to love our neighbors and serve the vulnerable population.

#MakeATXBRAVE Community Nourishment campaign is to:

1) serve the vulnerable population with healthy meal options,
2) to empower a cohort of young high school female students aka BRAVE Ambassadors to be agents of change and community organizers,
3) to bring awareness of food insecurities, health disparities, neighborhood access, and systemic racism, 
4) to activate community members to be engaged and build relationships,
5) to amplify BIPOC-businesses and voices in the greater Austin area.

Weekly Distribution:

  • We are now serving prepared meals (via Cook's Nook) and groceries (via Save the Food Austin and direct purchase) to individuals and families experiencing food insecurities. Please fill out our intake form EVERY week by Tuesday and share to those that we can support.  If you wish to volunteer, please fill out this form.    


Past Distribution:

  • January 16th (MLK weekend), we served 100 prepared meals, 50 shelf-stable bags, and 50 meal kits at the Ana Lark clinic, where CTHAI administers free COVID-19 tests to the vulnerable population.
  • February 13th at Greater Mt. Zion Church (4301 Tannenhill Lane), time-TBD, #MakeATXBRAVE Community Nourishment distribution's goals are to change the narrative from the current anti-Asian and anti-Blackness political and social rhetoric, and to celebrate commUNITY during Lunar New Year (Feb. 12), Valentine's weekend, and Black History Month.
  • April 2nd distributing prepared meals (via Cook's Nook) and meal kits with Easter treats to young people impacted by the foster care system.
