EVENT TIME iCal - Outlook - Google

Sun, May 16, 2021
6:00 PM - 7:30 PM CT

Enjoy an evening Building Relationships Awareness Voices and Engagement with intergenerational community conversation.

Join us as we highlight the work and activities that our BRAVE Ambassadors have done this academic year (2020/21) and participate in youth-led breakout sessions to listen, learn, grow, and build community together.

The BRAVE Ambassadors will reflect on the initiatives they participated in this past year, including civic engagement, personal and racial identity, learning more about systemic injustices and bringing more awareness via a digital campaign about the food insecurities on a local, national, and global level, and providing healthy food options to the vulnerable population in Austin, Texas.

We will spend the majority of this Showcase providing a brave space for the community to come together and talk about various social issues. The Ambassadors will facilitate breakout sessions with the following topics: anti-racism, LBGTQ+ rights, and resource injustices (effects of COVID-19, food insecurity, housing disparities, education inequities). Participants have the opportunity to pre-select their preferred breakout session topic with the ticket registration; or you can opt to be randomly placed in to a breakout group. The Zoom link to join the event is https://us02web.zoom.us/j/89239903732, we look forward to "seeing you" on Sunday, May 16th at 6pm Central!
